I planted the silky oak tree in 1984. I had to cut it down in 2010 because it was dying and dropping leaves on my roof. The timber used in this bowl was cut into 25mm boards in 2010. I had an idea, instead of laminating different colours of timber to create patterns, I would use one colour and high light the lines instead. When I started cutting the timber, I discovered that the wood had different colours even though the wood came from one tree.. amazing. The lines are walnut veneer and the litle top piece is ebony. This little bowl is special because I grew the tree. The bowl is about 160mm diameter and 145mm high
Hi Jim,
this work is really beautiful! Jim, you're incredibly skilled with lamination.
And also you prepare your plans with great precision.
You even got to plant and cultivate the tree in order to build this vessel.
bello, peccato che chi non ha dimestichezza con la lingua inglese si perda gran parte del senso della discussione
very good (molto bello)

In un forum Italiano, bisognerebbe parlare italiano, poche parole si imparano bene, per altro c'è il traduttore, che anche se non da la corretta traduzione riesce a far capire il senso del discorso.
