This screw top box is 75mm high and 55mm in diameter. It is made from an Australian timber called "red lancewood" and is very hard, necessary for cutting a thread. The threads were cut by hand using hand held thread chasers. The lathe speed is about 250rpm. It was sanded to 1200 grit sand paper and polished with Ubeaut "Glow". "Glow" is a shellac based friction polish. It is applied to the job while stationary with a soft cloth and is buffed up immediately at high speed and with pressure with a cloth.
